My Unfriendly Experience with PEP Boys

Columbia, SC – Recently a customer contacted us with a report about his unpleasant visit to the Pep Boys franchise located at 2455 Decker Blvd. Columbia, SC. This store is under the manager Brian and Mike. We were asked to keep the customer’s identity withheld.

After getting the vehicle from Carvana dropped off the Carvana driver saw a small crack in the windshield and called in for a repair. SafeLite arrived a few days later to repair but thought it should be replaced, so they did.

The customer then(while under the 100 day warranty) notice that the wipers were not working and was suggested to take it to Pep Boys.

While going back the following day to pick the vehicle up from Pep Boys and to relay the estimate to the insurance company, the customer noticed a crack in the new windshield. The manager there, Mike apologized and said they had to get under something and assured that the windshield would be taken care of and estimated a $100 should cover it.

After getting a call from the Pep Boys’ claims adjuster the customer was told he’d have to deal with the issue of calling someone to fix it, but they could send the customer a check. The customer was not happy with this arrangement and asked for them to take care of it.

The customer then called the next day and was told that they were not sure if they were responsible by the manager at the store and was told they’d call him back that evening. The store manager never called back and continuing with non resolving answers.

Carvana stepped in and covered the cost as an act of courtesy.
