Dunn, NC

Raleigh officer Wesley Lane of Mount Olive was arrested after assaulting a disabled man with a knife to the throat in the Western Sizzlin’ Steakhouse located in Dunn, NC. The man has been reported as having epilepsy, autism and an intellectual learning disability.

According to Dunn police, Officer Wesley Lane approached the man’s table in the restaurant, picked up a knife and accused the man of touching his daughter. Police officers unsuccessfully used surveillance video and witnesses to identify Lane and file charges.

Wesley Lane resigned from the Raleigh Police Department a few days after charges were filed.
